DUNCAN LEEL JNR -MEMORIAL SHIELDDUNCAN LEEL JNR -MEMORIAL SHIELD

The 1st Fraserburgh Boys Brigade Juniors have presented a Memorial Shield in honour of the late Duncan Leel Jnr.

The Shield was donated by the Company/Seniors and was first presented on Tuesday by Duncan’s mum, Jessie Leel. The shield is awarded for Sportsmanship and the inaugural winner named as James Peck. Well done James!

Duncan Jnr was a former OIC of the Juniors and for 20 years was Company Bandmaster. A fitting tribute!

HENRY DUTHIE MBE – MEMORIAL TROPHYHENRY DUTHIE MBE – MEMORIAL TROPHY

Friends of the Battalion will know that a new Championship Shield is to be presented to the Battalion this year in memory of the late Henry Duthie. On Wednesday his own Company, 4th Fraserburgh, also presented a trophy in his honour.

The Memorial Trophy is presented to the best boy in Company Section and its inaugural winner was Logan Thomson. Whilst Logan will not have known Henry, the poignant photograph of Logan and a friend paying their respects at Henry’s funeral was the one that made the paper, so perhaps it was meant to be! Congratulations to Logan!

It is wonderful to see both Henry’s Company and Battalion have honoured him.
