BRAEMAR 2023BRAEMAR 2023

Our President led a delegation of 8 members and 5 officers at the Braemar Gathering and Highland Games Centre yesterday, supporting Aberdeen & District Battalion – The Boys’ Brigade annual stewarding duties.

One of our members, Tayler (1st Rosehearty) had the distinction of being presented with the 140 Baton by His Majesty the King with two others, Ruary and Kaelyn, in the presentation party. A day to remember for sure and we look forward to meeting the baton again.

As can be seen in the photos, as well as meeting the King and the Queen some of our members bumped into a few famous faces!

Later this year the Boys’ Brigade will celebrate the milestone of its 140th Anniversary.

At a recent meeting of the NSA Executive our very own Jim Muirhead MBE proposed a Baton relay to celebrate the occasion; to link every company in the North. Planning has now begun to check the feasibility of this.

Our image today shows the Buchan Battalion baton from 1983 which was carried across the Battalion for the Centenary. It contained a message from our Battalion President.

Did you take part in 1983?
